Bundle (2015)

bundle
product design in collaboration with megan marvin. us patent # D737050.
(design, documentation, project management, photography, marketing, sales, financing, accounting)

Bundle, a reusable bag designed to lay flat and resist tearing, was originally designed by Megan Marvin and Christopher Ferguson as a full-scale prototype for their final design studio at The University of Texas at Austin School of Architecture. After encouragement from friends and professors to continue the project, the two recent graduates continued to refine the design over the summer. By fall they were confident they had a marketable design, each settling into professional roles at architecture firms in Austin and New York in the process.

Working across both cities, the pair co-founded DO.GROUP DESIGN, a vehicle they used to secure a patent, source fabricators and suppliers that could support both wholesale and small batch orders, and eventually work into the national trade show and craft fair circuits.

DO.GROUP has ambitions to become a platform to equip young designers with the skills needed to bring products to market. Bundle is made in the United States, (shipping from Austin, Texas) and is currently for sale at dogroupdesign.com/shop. The project has been featured by Texas Architect Magazine, the RAW Artists Network, and was shortlisted for ArchDaily's 2015 "Holiday Gifts for Architects" feature.
